Air-conditioning and heating technicians, commonly referred to as HVAC technicians, install, repair and maintain systems that control and distribute air in buildings.

Their work requires them to travel to homes and businesses where the systems are installed. Because of the variety of air conditioning and heating systems, technicians often specialize in installing and maintaining a specific type of equipment.
